905-907Microporous molybdenum containing silicalite-2 (MoMEL) has been synthesized hydrothermally, under aluminium free alkaline conditions. Physicochemical characterization of the sample (XRD, FTIR, UV-Vis and TG/DTA) has revealed the possible incorporation of molybdenum ions in the zeolite framework. Mo-MEL is active in the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethanol to acetaldehyde with about 40% conversion at 673 K with a selectivity of 90%
