729-741In the past two decades the area of supramolecular chemistry has mainly developed in two directions; synthesis and applications of host-guest complexes by non-covalent interactions and construction of supramolecular architectureviaself-organisationofappropriate sub-units. Hydrogen bonding, hydrophobic interactions and recently metal assistance have been utilised to develop the latter type of architecture. The present review surveys the developments in the area of metal supported self-assembled supramolecular chemistry
