834-838The thermal stability of Cu(I) and Ag(I) iodide-heteroeyclie amine complexes of the type Cu(L)I and Ag(L')! (where L stands for pyridine, 2-pieoline, 3-picoline, 4-pieoline, iperidine, quilloline, 2,2'-bipyridyl, 1,10-phenanthroline and acridine, and L' stands Lr pyridine and isoquinoline) have been stu icd using TGA and DTA techniques. IR spectral and X-ray diffraction analyses have been used to identify the nature of the dissociation products, The complexes, in the first step, lose the heteroeyclic amine whereas iodine is eliminated in the second step, The comparative study of pyridine and substituted pyridine (2,3-, 4-picolines) complexes reveals that the thermal stabi!ity decreases with increasing covalency of the ligand
