The high speed drive systems are much interested in the field of industrial applications due to the compact size, reliability and high efficiency. A new single-phase power factor corrected converter is proposed to improve the input power factor for an efficient Switched Reluctance (SR) motor drive. The power factor correction has been done on the basis of phase current waveform, fourier analysis and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD).
