79-82The generation of bremsstrahlung X-ray flux due to precipitation of electrons having power law and exponential energy spectra, has been studied. Using electron influx data and the bremsstrahlung cross-section, Monte-Carlo method has been adopted to compute the height variation of photon flux with energy for two assumed electron energy spectra, viz. the power law and the exponential spectra. The bremsstrahlung flux produced by the power law and exponential electron spectra show a variation between them of an order of magnitude. The precise measurement of bremsstrahlung photon flux would be capable of revealing the nature of precipitating electron energy spectrum
