74-75Results of an extensive study of the visual meteor survey of the geminid shower observed during the period 1961-66 are presented. The activity of the shower has been found to be maximum on the night of the 13 Dec. with a spread of about four days on either side. Typical and average diurnal variations in the shower indicate a maximum rate of occurrence around 0400 hrs LT. The mean radiant coordinates of the shower are found to be ɑ=112°and δ=+32°.The study of the frequency distribution of the Geminid meteor magnitudes has yielded a value of the parameter r equal to 2·4, where r represents the factor by which the true hourly rate of meteors of any magnitude increases for a unit increase in the apparent visual magnitude
