198-200Drift motion of the ionization irregularities in the equatorial ionosphere obtained simultaneous from the spaced scintillation record at Tiruchirapalli from the radio beacon at 136 MHz of the geostationary satellite ETS-2, and from the spaced fading records have been compared. The directions of motion of the irregularities obtained by the two techniques agree very well with each other. However, the speed deduced from the spaced scintillation records is fairly higher than the speed deduced from the spaced fading records
