20-24Monthly mean hourly values of horizontal intensity at Sabhawala, a station located close to the Sq focus, are analyzed to determine the seasonal variations in Sq(H) and to study the local time dependence of periodic oscillations. It is shown that Sq(H) at Sabhawala exhibits typical characteristics of stations in the vicinity of the focal latitude. The dominant second harmonic shows a seasonal variation just like equatorial stations rather than low latitude ones. Annual and semi-annual components of H at Sabhawala confirm the existence of different generating mechanisms for these oscillations in the magnetosphere and the ionosphere.
