Escherichia coli’s social foraging behaviour is the inspiration for BFOA.BFOA is very efficient in solving real-world optimization issues in various domains. E.coli’s biological behaviour of exhibiting foraging is emulated to an optimization algorithm called BFOA ,hence it is well-suited for Marine application..The chemotaxis step in BFOA is analysed using mathematical model. Analysing lead to a adaptive variant of BFOA,in which chemotactic step size is varied in accordance with current fitness of a virtual bacterium
