190-194Wheat seed storage proteins play important role in determining its quality. At the same time, polymorphism of wheat seed storage proteins can be explored to analyze genetic diversity among wheat cultivars. In the present study, a simple process of solubility-based sequential fractionation of wheat seed storage proteins has been documented. Using the same, 16 polymorphic protein bands, belonging to the class albumin, globulin, gliadin and glutenin, have been recorded in 10 wheat cultivars. On the basis of the recorded polymorphism, all the wheat cultivars could be distinguished from each other.
