30-35Radio soundings were made rapidly (every minute) to study the ionospheric effects of the total solar eclipse of 24 Oct. 1995 over Ahmedabad with maximum obscuration of 83% at 0800 hrs (75° EMT). Comparison with the data recorded on the control day, 23 Oct. 1995, shows reduction of 57%, 69% and 40% in the maximum electron densities of E-, F1-, and F2- regions, respectively. True height analysis of quarter hourly ionograms shows maximum eclipse-associated decrease at 200 km. Some indication of wave activity is notices, especially, near the F2 peak soon after the eclipse
