Dyeing of Acrylic Acid and Acrylamide Grafted Nylon 6

Acrylic acid grafted nylon 6 shows appreciable increase in basic dye uptake compared to unmodified nylon 6. The dye uptake at saturation is proportional to the number of carboxyl groups in the fibre. Acrylamide grafted nylon does not show increased dye uptake with acid dyes compared to unmodified nylon 6.
