195-199A new aerosol filtration apparatus based on pulse-jet cleaning has been designed and used for studing the effects of area density, needling density, particle size and face velocity on filtration performance of need le-punched polyester filter fabrics. The filtration performance associated with a change in each variable has been assessed through the measured values of filtration efficiency and pressure drop across the filter. It is observed that the filtration efficiency of nonwoven needlepunched fabric is higher for higher fabric area density.
