86-89The covalently linked diaryl ethyne bridged porphyrin trimers containing Zn(II) and free base porphyrin units have been synthesized and characterized. Ground state absorption spectra of trimers indicate a strong interaction between the porphyrin units. Steady state fluorescence measurements of hybrid porphyrin trimers suggest an efficient energy transfer from Zn(II) porphyrin unit to free base porphyrin unit
