185-188Plain weft knitted fabrics with a range of tightness factor have been produced using ring, openend and double rove feed polyester-cotton yarns with different twist levels, and the fabric compressibility has been measured with the help of a thickness gauge both before and after the heat setting. It is observed that the fabric compressibility is primarily dependent on loop length and areal density. The heat-set fabrics show very good compressional property. Yarn twist has a little effect on fabric compressibility. Open-end yarn fabric shows comparatively lower value of compressional resilience
