63-66Notes that the Science Citation Index (SCI) has utterly failed in covering the Indian journals. India is producing largest number of papers in science and technology and allied fields. It is felt that the time has come when Indians should loudly think to produce their own Indian Science Citation Index (ISCI) and Indian Social Science Citation Index (ISSCI). Suggests some important organizations to be involved and the names of some prominent information scientists whose advise can be sought in preparing ISCI due to their rich experience in the area of bibliometrics.
