Synthesis and Pesticidal Activities of Some 3-Aryloxymethyl-6-(2-Arylyloxymethyl)-1,2,4-Triazolo [3,4-b] [1,3,4]Thiadiazoles and 3-Aryl-8-Nitro-1,2,4-Triazolo [3,4-b] [1,3,4] Benzothiadiazepines

538-542Several of 3-aryloxymethyl- 6-(2-tolyloxymethyl)-1 ,2,4-triazolo-[3,4-b] [1,3,4] thiadiazoles (II) have been synthesised by cyclocondensation of 4-amino-5-aryloxymethyl-3-mercapto-1 ,2,4-triazoles and 2-tolyloxyacetic acid with DCC in CH2Cl2. The 3-aryloxymethyl-8-nitro- 1,2,4-triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4] benzothiadiazepnes (IV) have been synthesised by cyclisation -of 5-aryloxy-methyl- 4-(2- chloro- 5 - nitro benzylidene amine)-3-mercapto- 1,2,4- triazoles with pyridine. Compounds (II and IV) have been screened for their herbicidal activities against Echinochloa oryzicola, Eehinochloa crus-galli, Oryza sativa and fungicidal activities against Saprolegnia parasitica and Achlva orion.
