Analysis of high pressure equation of state for LiH and MgO

361-365Analysis of high pressure equation of state (EOS) has been performed for LiH and MgO solids in the compression range from V/V0 =1.0 down to V/V0 = 0.20. Values of pressure (P), isothermal bulk modulus (BT) and pressure derivative of isothermal bulk modulus (dBT/dP) corresponding to different compressions have been obtained using the Born-Mie EOS, the Brennan-Stacey EOS and the Shanker EOS. The results have been discussed and compared with the corresponding values derived from the Hama-Suito universal EOS which is based on the quantum-statistical model and augmented plane-wave methods. The variation of dBT/dP with P has also been studied on the basis of formulation developed by Stacey.
