Aggregates play an important role on strength characteristics and abrasion resistance of concrete. Also compressive strength has a decisive influence on abrasion. In this study, hematite is used as replacement aggregate for the purpose. This study investigates effects of different concentrations (10-50% replacement) of hematite on mechanical properties of concrete. Water/cement ratio and cement content is kept constant as 0.42 and 400 kg/m3, respectively.
