38-40Substitution of [RuIII(edta)SR]2- with Nu ( (RSH = cysteine, glutathione; Nu = AMP (adenosine-5′-monophosphate), GMP (guanosine-5′-monophosphate), IMP (inosine-5′-monophosphate), CMP (cytidineine-5′-monophosphate) and UMP (uracil-5′-monophosphate) has been examined spectrophotometrically and kinetically at physiological pH 7.2. In each case the rate constant for reaction to form [RuIII(edta)Nu]- is independent of the nucleotide concentration. A reaction mechanism, in agreement with the spectral and kinetic data, is discussed
