2158-2162A series of 1-[5΄-(2, 4-dichloro-5-fluorophenyl)-6΄H-1΄, 3΄, 4΄-thiadiazin-2΄-yl]-4-(substituted phenyl)-3-chloro-2-oxo-azetidines 3 and 3-[5΄-(2, 4-dichloro-5-fluorophenyl)-6΄H-1΄,3΄,4΄-thiadiazin-2΄-yl]-2-(substituted phenyl)-1, 3-thiazolidin-4-one 4 have been synthesized using environmentally benign procedure and evaluated for their antimicrobial activity. Neat reactants are subjected to microwave irradiation under solvent-free condition. The observed yields and enhancement in reaction rates are due to the solvent-free conditions coupled with microwave usage. Structures of the synthesized compounds have been elucidated on the basis of their elemental analyses and spectral data
