24-30The aim of this study was to identify the role of insulin receptor substrates (IRS) in insulin signaling by doing sequence based comparative analysis. The sequences of IRS family (1, 2, 4, 5 & 6) were submitted to predict protein motif scan and clustal W for motif, domain identification and multiple sequence alignment. All the 5 IRS had some common motifs like amidation, Asn glycosylation, myristoylation, cAMP, casein kinase II, protein kinase C phosphorylation sites and functional domains like PTB and PH.
