336-339Sixteen microsatellite loci were investigated for studying the genetic polymorphism in Kachchhi breed of camel. Polymerase chain reactions were carried out for 50 unrelated camels of Kachchhi breed. The amplification products were resolved in 6% (denaturing) urea PAGE and stained with silver nitrate. Out of the 16 microsatellite loci, 13 were found polymorphic. The number of alleles ranged from 2 to 6. The expected heterozygosity ranged from 0.332 to 0.796. The polymorphic information content ranged from 0.277 to 0.765.
