Thesis (B.S.)--University of Rochester. Dept. of Physics and Astronomy, 1993.Detection of the J = 2-1 line of carbon monoxide in the polarrings of NGC 2685 and UGC 5600 is presented and discussed. The kinematically confirmed polar ring of NGC 2685 has 2.4x10mag8 M0 of molecular matter. UGC 5600 also appears to be rich in molecular hydrogen having 4.1 x 10mag8 M0 of molecular material. These polar rings cannot be explained by the current theory of capture of a dwarf galaxy. An alternative theory is discussed
