Unwanted reactions between metallic interconnect and other SOFC components decrease the efficiency of these energy convertors. One approach to improve interconnect properties is to apply surface coating. In this study AISI 430 ferritic stainless steel was coated in a cobalt-base pack mixture by pack cementation. The formation of Mn3O4 and MnFe2O4 spinels during oxidation at 700ºC improve oxidation resistance and electrical conductivity. The effect of oxide thickness on the area specific resistance (ASR) was investigated by applying isothermal oxidation. Results showed that the increase of isothermal oxidation time, increases the oxide thickness and this increase the ASR
