The Floatex Density Separator (FDS) is an enhanced hydraulic classifier which utilises both size and specific gravity for the particle classification. In the present investigation, effect of process variables such as teeter water flow rate, set point, and feed rate on performance of FDS in terms of yield to underflow, cut size (D50), separation efficiency (Ep) has been evaluated and discussed. It is observed from the studies that teeter water has more pronounced effect on yield to underflow and cut size where as separation efficiency is more influenced by the set point
