Fabrication of an apparatus for the determination of hydrogen in metals and alloys by vacuum heating method has been described. Analyses with different steel samples such as low alloy steel, nickel-free stainless steel and Cr-Mn-Fe alloy have shown that reliable results could be obtained even when the hydrogen content is as low as 0.1 cc per 100 gm.
