Abstract: This research intended to describe the mathematical representation of 7th grade students in SMPN 15 Surakarta in solving mathematical problem based on Krulik-Rudnick steps on the topic of social arithmetic and comparison viewed from cognitive style of Field Independent and Field Dependent. The procedure used to select the subject was snowball sampling, with six subjects consisted of three subjects in each cognitive style being analyzed. The data validation was carried out using time triangulation.
