Le pari des centres de compétences dans la stabilisation des organisations en phase post-projet ERP

Although ERP implementation is known to be complicated and risky, exploitation by users still remains problematic for a number of companies. Many problems arise during ERP post-implementation: integration difficulties, appropriation and decline in levels of productivity that provoke dysfunctions and critical situations which managers find difficult to handle. The purpose of this article is to show the role that a Competency Centre can play in stabilizing the organization during the ERP post-implementation and its contribution in finding solutions to organizational and technical issues. After a literature review showing the specificity of this phase and the main dysfunctions that destabilize the organization and slow down the user’s appropriation process, we shall bring to light the answers brought by CCs to mitigate these failures and stabilise the organization. A qualitative study clearly demonstrates the key role of the CC as a technical and organizational resource for accompanying the stabilization of the organization, through the treatment of the dysfunctions and the integration of new organizational routines. Finally, we end this article with a proposal for an "Idéal-type" matrix in order to adjust the various situations which could arise during the ERP post-implementation. The results of this research have the merit to allow practitioners to become aware of the importance of the CC structure in an integrated environment and to invite the IS community to be more attentive to these problems in the future.Si la mise en place d’un ERP est connue pour être compliquée et risquée, son exploitation par les métiers et les utilisateurs demeure très problématique pour plusieurs entreprises. La phase post-projet ERP est souvent marquée par des difficultés d’intégration, d’appropriation et de baisse de niveaux de productivité provoquant des dysfonctionnements et des situations critiques difficiles à gérer par les directions d’entreprises. L’objectif de cet article est de montrer le rôle que peut jouer le Centre de Compétences (CC) dans la stabilisation de l’organisation durant la phase post-projet ERP et sa contribution à la recherche de solutions pour concilier mutations organisationnelle et technique. Après une revue de la littérature qui montre la spécificité de cette phase et les principaux dysfonctionnements qui déstabilisent l’organisation et ralentissent le processus d’appropriation des utilisateurs, nous mettrons en évidence les réponses apportées par les CC pour pallier à ces défaillances et stabiliser l’organisation. Une étude qualitative de type recherche-intervention fait apparaitre le rôle clé du CC comme dispositif d’accompagnement technique et organisationnel dans la stabilisation de l’organisation à travers le traitement des dysfonctionnements et l’intégration de nouvelles routines organisationnelles. Enfin, nous terminons cet article par la proposition d’une matrice « Idéal-type » pour positionner les différentes situations qui pourraient se présenter lors de la phase post-projet ERP. Les résultats de cette recherche auront le mérite de sensibiliser les dirigeants et les managers à l’importance d’une structure de CC dans un environnement intégré et d’inviter la communauté SI à accorder plus d’attention à ces problématiques dans le futur
