Le modèle de la Vision Organisante : un essai d'instrumentation

In 1997, Swanson and Ramiller gave rise to a reference thinking about information systems. Stating the importance of authorized ideas concerning the choice and the process of technological deployment, the researchers proposed a model which is based on a central concept: Organizing Vision. The article suggests a strategy of instrumentation from the theoretical framework based on the use of media analytical techniques alongside the case study method. In accordance with the recommendations of Swanson and Ramiller, two newspapers (01 Informatique and Le Monde Informatique) have been examined over the period 1999-2003. Lexicometric analysis, pivot analysis, thematic analysis and factor analysis have been used in order to isolate some trends as regards IS and to examine the authorized discourses. The whole set is then articulated with two longitudinal case studies. This strategy of general descending research is consistent with and extends a little more the scope of the theory of Swanson and Ramiller. It shows clearly the interrelationships between organisational and inter-organisational levels as regards technological adoption. The model of the organizing vision even seems to be relevant to slightly widening the case study method for many social phenomena organizations are coping with.En 1997, Swanson et Ramiller ont publié une réflexion de référence en système d'information. Constatant l'importance des idées «autorisées» en matière de choix et de processus de déploiement technologiques, les chercheurs ont proposé un modèle fondé sur un concept central : celui de vision organisante. L'article suggère une stratégie d'instrumentation du cadre théorique basée sur l'utilisation de techniques d'analyses de médias aux côtés de la méthode des cas. Conformément aux préconisations de Swanson et Ramiller, des journaux (01 Informatique et Le Monde Informatique) sont étudiés sur la période 1999-2003. Des techniques d'analyses lexicométriques, des analyses de pivots, des analyses thématiques et des analyses factorielles servent à isoler les modes en matière de SI et à repérer les discours autorisés. L'ensemble est ensuite articulé avec deux études de cas longitudinales. Cette stratégie de recherche « descendante générale » semble tenir ses promesses et donne davantage corps à la théorie de Swanson et Ramiller. Elle montre bien les interrelations entre les niveaux organisationnels et interorganisationnels en matière d'adoption technologique. Le modèle de la vision organisante semble même pertinent afin d'ouvrir un peu plus la méthode des cas aux phénomènes sociaux que vivent les organisations
