Känn ditt land(skap)! En komparativ analys av natursyner i Svenska Turistföreningens landskapsserier

This bachelor thesis analyzes and compares the view of nature in Svenska Turistföreningen’s yearbooks from 1930 and 1975 where the province of Närke is the central theme. The thesis applies a combination of Garrad’s ecocritical tropes and Erlandsson-Hammargren’s concepts of view of nature in order to discuss how views of nature are expressed. The results point to an overall shift in how nature is portrayed and what values are attributed to it. The yearbook from 1930 mediates a view of nature where it is mostly perceived to have provided a basis for the province’s inhabitants to live and thrive in it. The volume from 1975 is on the other hand characterized by a problematic stance to nature and mans impact on it
