Happiness is one of the main topic that dominantly disscussed in philosophy of ethics. The concept of happiness is disscussed from the beginning of philosophy in the classical Greek civilisation around 470 BC until around 529 AD. The question of happiness arises when philosophers try to find answers to the ultimate and highest goal of human life. Various concepts and meanings about happiness are introduced to find solution to these issues. We analyse those concepts of happiness by dividing it into specific periods starting from pre-Socrates, Sophist, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and another school of thought later such as Epicureans and Stoics. Each concept of happiness is shown to have its weaknesses
