This article explains the distribution of zakat practiced by Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Melayu (MAIDAM) in Terengganu. The main objective of zakat is to reduce poverty and to balance the range between the poor and wealthy. Quranic verse outlines the condition to whom zakat should be distributed, however silence on the amount entitled by each group. As such, there is an argument on this issue on how the amount should be determined. This article aims to highlight the practice of zakat distribution by MAIDAM over the past 10 years and its capability in realising the objective of zakat
