The adsorption bf As(V) on China clay has been investigated in the light of contact times, concentration, temperature and pH of the arsenic (V solution. The kinetics of adsorption follow first order reversible reaction and indicates the process to be diffusion controlled. The equilibrium data at various temperatures obey equation of the Langmuir type. Thermodynamic parameters were calculated to understand the clear mechanism involved in the process. The maximum removal of As(V) from aqueous solution hy china clay was found at pH 6.4
