Factors influencing outsource decision on property maintenance services of Malaysian office buildings

In this paper an investigation on the factors influencing outsource decision of property maintenance services for Malaysian office buildings are reported. In particular, five identified core factors of performance, economics, technological, dealing and administration (PETDA) were put forward and followed with twenty sub factors used to examine the perception of respondents towards the importance level of each. The result shows that the most critical aspect influencing the outsourcing decisions on property maintenance services was economics factors. This is followed in sequence by the decisive factors of performance, dealing, technological and lastly administration was revealed as the least important factor among all. The result of this study can serve as an evaluation guide for clients in this context when considering whether or not to adopt outsourcing strategy based on the resulted level of criticalness of various factors identified
