Celik al-Quran: cabaran dan realiti dalam Pendidikan Islam di sekolah

Al-Quran which has been revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is a constitution and the main source of knowledge which needs to be mastered and learnt by all Muslims. Besides that, al-Quran is also an important element in the daily practices of a Muslim. Hence, the Muslim ummah needs to concentrate on learning and understanding the contents of al-Quran especially from the recitation aspect. Studying and teaching al-Quran is a humble and respectful practice that is highly encouraged by Islam. Bearing in mind the above concept, the government is working hand in hand with the Ministry of Education to make teaching of al-Quran an important component in Islamic Education in schools. Nonetheless, how far can its implementation in schools contribute towards increasing student awareness in the teaching of al-Quran? This article will explore and discuss in depth the potential challenges while working towards the success of implementing al-Quran Education in schools at present
