A discussion of the political system in Islam is always interesting and controversial. This paper describes the differences in Islamic Political thoughts of three figures,namely Al-Ghazali, Ibn Taimiyah, and Ibn Khaldun. By considering the opinions of Al-Ghazali, Ibn Taimiyah, and Ibn Khaldun on the origin of a country, the factors supporting the establishment of the state, the relationship between religion and state, the task of head of state, the requirements of the head state, the appointment of the head state, and the source of power then it is concluded that (1) Al-Ghazali's model of government is monarchy, (2) Ibn Taimiyyah's model governance is democracy and (3) Ibn Khaldun's model of governance is democrac
