Penetapan Awal Bulan Qamariyah: Melacak Pemikiran Hisab di Kalangan Fukaha dan Muhammadiyah

Basically, there are two ways of determining the coming of Islamic (Hijriyah) months, both are ru'yah and hisab. Determining the coming of the first day of the month is very significant especially for the month which has religious implication, such as Ramadhan. This paper focuses on how hisab is used to determine the coming of the first day of the month using comparative analysis between fukaha and Muhammadiyah perspectives. One of the important conclusion made by the author is that either ru'yah or hhisab might be used in determining the coming of the first day of the month
