Adaptation of translation procedure in act of republic of Indonesia nmber 13 year 2003 concerning manpower

In this research the writer concerned with translation study, that is, the adaptation of translation in Act of Republic Indonesia Number 13 Year 2003 about Manpower. The objective of the research are: (1) To describe translation adaptation used by translator in translating the selected words , (2) to find the frequently translation adaptation applied by the translator in translating the selected words. The writer uses qualitative descriptive method in order to reach the objective of the research. The writer employs herself to collect data; by reading the object of the Act document Indonesia version and its translation (English). Marking the selected word, classifying, selecting and analyzing them based on the theories of translation adaptation which is taken them some relevant references. Finding of this study show that: The adaptation is used to render the selected Indonesia words into English. Based on the result of adaptation applied in translating where the context referred to in the SL does not exist in the target culture, when the cultural concept is diffrent between source language and target language, and the different two situation. Adaptation is the way in order the translation acceptable in TL and could be understood by the reader of TL
