The Effectiveness of teaching English modal auxiliaries through the dialogue: an experiment study at the second grade of SMP Islam al-Fajar Kedaung-Pamulang

The objective of the research is to gain the information about teaching English modal auxiliaries through the dialogue, moreover it is conducted to get the an effective teaching in . teaching English modal auxiliaries at SMP Islam Al-Fajar Kedaung- Pamulang. Sample of the research is as much so 80 students of second grade (40 class A used dialogue and 40 class B used expository) and an English teacher. This methodology using quantitative methode from by collecting data from observation and test. The data collected in this research analyzed by using t-test. According to the result of 1,605 and the value of tt (t table ) from df (78 ). The Significance of experiment class is 4,24 and the significance of control class is 1,34. The writer can interpret from based analysis experiment class is higher than control class, So, experiment class is accepted. Based on the finding of this study, it can be concluded that teaching English modal auxiliaries through the dialogue is quite success. By teaching English modal auxiliaries through dialogue students fee more interesting and enjoy doing activities in the class, it also can give the students the opportunities to be active in learning
