Students� ability in English Pronunciation �A Quasi- Experimental Study� in The First Grade Students of Islamic Junior High School (MTs Yaspina Rempoa Ciputat)

This study is aimed at knowing Students� Pronunciation Ability. The language role is very clear in transferring the feeling of solution and changing solidarity among human beings, like in this condition, they do not only exchange their thought but also their feelings. Many learners want to speak and interact to other people in English especially to the foreigners for it is an international language of communication. Beside mastering listening, speaking, reading, and writing, the components of language such as grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary must be taught to support the development of those skills. Pronunciation as one of the language components is important in foreign language teaching. Pronunciation is in fact, the first aspect of any living language with which we have to deal, since all the rest of our learning depends on our being able to understand what we hear and to make ourselves understood in the target language. For language teaching this means that every lesson involves the spoken language called pronunciation lesson. However, the fact that some students are able to acquire reasonable pronunciation without overt pronunciation teaching should not blind us to the benefits of a focus on pronunciation in our lessons. Based on the result can be concluded that Students� Pronunciation Ability are: The percentage of score from range 80-100 (Excellent) is increasing from 30% to 37.5%, The percentage of score from range 50-79 (Good) is increasing from 37.5% to 47.5%, The percentage of score from range 0-49 (Bad) is decreasing from 32.5% to 15
