Israel responses toward Iranian nuclear program (2009-2012)

This thesis elaborates Israel�s responses toward Iranian nuclear program (2009-2012). Issues to be raised in this research are about how and why does Israel respond to Iranian nuclear program from 2009-2012. In answering the research question, the author focuses on the second period of Benjamin Netanyahu as a Prime Minister of Israel�s (2009-2012). The concept of security dilemma, national interest and the concept of foreign policy are concepts that help the author in analyzing the phenomena that rose in this research. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method. This method emphasizes on the inductive model with a textual data as its main source. The data then processed by the author using the theoretical framework to help the author in answering the research question that is addressed in this study. After the research, the author foundreasons behind Israel�s decisionsIsrael responds to the Iranian nuclear program. Security dilemma has becoming one of the reasons why Israel feels it is important to give a response toward Iranian nuclear. As well as security dilemma,Internal and external factors also played an important role in shaping Israel�s responses toward Iranian program. Israel found that Iranian nuclear is an existential threat for its national interest, besides, Israel also found that it is important to not only preserving their national interest alone, but also the interest of the U.S in the region as the backup country of Israel in the region
