A meaning equivalence analysis between Indonesian and English cultural words in �surat dari Oslo

The aim of this research is to find out the differences between the original poem of �SURAT DARI OSLO�and the English translation result. Thewriter analyzes the poem entitled �SURAT DARI OSLO�. In this research, the writer uses qualitative research with descriptive analysis as the method of research. She analyzes the poem by reading for taking note that has chosen which contains word, phrase and sentences intensively and giving attention to each line. After that, the writer tries to highlight them and docompression on the poem of �SURAT DARI OSLO� by searching interesting available differences. From thepoem, the writer hasfound the unique or interesting differences in some paragraphs or sentences.Especially, the whole contents of source texts or target texts such as in Javanese Culture �SURAT DARI OSLO�.The poem that was analyzed by the writer has different in seeing the great. Traditional Javanese highly their belief of them. But the point is Toety Heraty believed very interesting because he thought that it was not only a culture poem generally, but there were one real. Some believed that �Surat dari Oslo� Javanese Culture was still exist and had been used by John McGlynn to creat Java such as excitement and find happiness, the finals it was enclosed by him and hidden in a special place. And it will be opened if the earth will again, no one could prove itself. Even though it seems still custom, but for the writer this is interesting research. Some other translators translated it into �Letter from Oslo� the literal translation of this poem was made by Ulrich Kratz and the final translated version of the poem by Carole Satyamurt
