English language borrowing into Indonesia in medical terms

This research is aimed to find out process and types of borrowing words from English into Indonesian in medical terminology uses relevant theories, which are taken randomly from Dokter Kita magazine 5th edition. The writer uses descriptive analysis method. He describes one by one the borrowing words from English. Firstly, He analyzes the process of borrowing. Then he analyzes those words which are experiencing the change in meaning, such as Widening, Narrowing, Ameliorative, Pejorative, Metaphor, and Metonymy. The writer also analyzes the types of borrowing, such as loanword, loan blend, and loan shift. To support the analysis, the writer uses some dictionaries, such as KBBI, Kamus kesehatan, and Taber?s Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary and other related references. As the conclusion, the writer has found many borrowing words from English into Indonesian in medical terminology. The process that presented in this research is the change in meaning as follows: three widening, three narrowing, and fourteen same meaning. But the writer didn?t find ameliorative, pejorative, metaphor and metonymy process in those borrowing words. And the writer also concludes there are types of borrowing words process such as seven loanwords, thirteen loan blend and four loan shif
