Gender construction on cary fukunaga's Jane Eyre Movie

In this research, the writer analyzed a movie entitled Jane Eyre produced by Cary Fukunaga on 2011. The research focuses on problems how gender construction is portrayed in this movie with narratives and cinematography. The objective of the research is to show that problems of gender construction portrayed in Jane Eyre movie through narratives and cinematography. The instrument of the research is the writer herself. This movie will be analyzed carefully and accurately using the theory of gender construction as a response to the research problems. The method of the research is descriptive qualitative method. Then, the writer can prove the data with the results of watching movie. In this analysis, the writer finds out gender construction experienced by main female character. Gender construction is described clearly through the injustice of women rights on education, family, and social environment in this movie. All those sectors make women�s movement so limited. Gender construction in relationship of men and women became unequal in the rights approach and became the foundation in justification to the superiority of men in family and public domain. However, in case of gender construction in this movie not only viewed of men treats women, but also women treats women constructed in public sphere
