The research is aimed to describe the kinds of figurative language and the meaning of the slogan advertisement in the colomn advertisement of the Jakarta Post starts from November to December 2013. The theories in this thesis are figurative language. From those theories, this thesis has eight categories of figure of speech; they are hyperbole, alliteration, personification, metonymy, elipsis, metaphor, simile, paradox.
