The objective of this study was to evaluate the productive performance, carcass characteristics and non carcass components of lambs fed with different proportions and types of carbohydrates. Thirty sheared sheep with no defined racial pattern were used, with a mean body weight of 20.5 ± 7.6 kg, with 5 months of age, distributed in a randomized complete block design. The diets consisted of: High Diet CNF (High proportion of non-fibrous carbohydrates); Low diet CNF (Low proportion of non-fibrous carbohydrates) and High diet CNF + cactus (High proportion of non-fibrous carbohydrates and forage cactus).
