Mulheres empoderadas? um estudo sobre o protagonismo discente no Curso de Pedagogia

This work aims to reflect on the processes of empowerment featuring female students of the Pedagogy course of UFPB/Campus I, with the goal of identifying to what extent the relationship between the Pedagogy course and groups or collectives facilitate the processes of empowerment of these women. After conducting a survey in the pedagogy course, thirteen students qualified as protagonists because of their performance in the human rights field. To reflect on the processes of empowerment experienced by them, I conducted narrative interviews to understand better their background stories and their struggles. The three concepts that theoretically underlie this work are gender issues, empowerment focusing on women and leadership. These concepts were used as analytical categories in the empirical material of this work. Hence, the chapter entitled “Are students empowered in the Pedagogy course?”, is divided into three sessions, they are the background stories and gender relationships; “let me speak”: the empowerment of women; and “I am the protagonist of my story”. Each session emphasises an analytical category. The university, as well as the Pedagogy program, causes different feelings in the people that pass through the classrooms, squares and corridors. In this way, the course was, for a share of the participants, the starting point to join in the groups and collectives, while for other women, the course is considered tawdry in regards of gender discussions and as a booster for linking the groups and organisations. In spite of this, the processes of learning and the contributions in the teacher training process were highlighted by all participants, who see a positive relationship between the Pedagogy course and groups and collectives.Este trabalho dedica-se a refletir sobre os processos de empoderamento protagonizados por mulheres discentes do curso de Pedagogia da UFPB/Campus I, com o objetivo de identificar em que medida a relação entre o curso de Pedagogia e grupos ou coletivos facilitam os processos de empoderamento destas mulheres. Ao realizar um levantamento no curso de Pedagogia, treze estudantes foram reconhecidas como protagonistas pela sua atuação no campo dos direitos. Para refletir sobre os processos de empoderamento vivenciados por elas, realizei entrevistas narrativas a fim de conhecer suas trajetórias de vida e luta. Os conceitos que fundamenta teoricamente este trabalho são: gênero, empoderamento com foco em mulheres e protagonismo. Esses conceitos foram utilizados como categorias analíticas do material empírico deste trabalho. Com isso, o capítulo intitulado “Discentes empoderadas no curso de Pedagogia?” está dividido em três sessões, são elas: trajetórias de vida e relações de gênero; “deixe-me falar”: empoderamento de mulheres; e “sou protagonista da minha história”; cada sessão enfatiza uma categoria analítica. A universidade, assim como o curso de Pedagogia, produz(em) diferentes sentimentos nas pessoas que transitam por entre salas, praças e corredores. Neste caminho, o curso representou para uma parcela das participantes o ponto inicial para ingressar em grupos e coletivos, ao passo que, para outras mulheres, o curso deixa a desejar no tocante às discussões de gênero e como impulsionador para vinculação a grupos e coletivos. Apesar disso, os processos de aprendizagens e contribuições na formação docente foram destacados por todas as participantes, que veem positivamente a relação entre o curso de Pedagogia e grupos e/ou coletivos
