Semeando no voluntariado para colher cidadania: um estudo sobre motivações para o trabalho voluntário, percepções e atitudes cidadãs

This research aimed to analyze the relationship between the motivations for volunteering and citizenship, focusing on volunteers in the health area in the State of Paraíba. In this sense, a theoretical framework was developed aiming at the general basis of citizenship, volunteering, motivation for volunteer work, as well as the intercession of these themes. And then, for the continuation of the analyzes were developed statistical techniques, such as: descriptive measures, tests of correlations, variances and differences of means between groups. For the data collection process, two questionnaires were used: one to categorize voluntary motivations, prepared and validated by Cavalcante (2016), and one adapted from the Citizen Audit e Ferraz (2017), a census created by the Social and Economic Research Council of England, to the analysis of attitudes and behaviors linked to citizenship. These questionnaires were submitted to two samples of 222 people: volunteers and non-volunteers, making it possible to make comparisons between both groups regarding citizen practice. In the analysis of the results, the descriptive measures of the instruments used were demonstrated, in which the means of motivation for learning, followed by altruistic, were highlighted as the most expressive among the volunteers. Comparative analyzes were also performed between volunteers and non-volunteers from the t-test, as well as tests of correlation between motivations for voluntary work and social, political and civil rights. Finally, it can be said that volunteers working in the health of the State of Paraíba in the quest for learning as a motivation for more expressive volunteerism, for altruistic motivation and search for social justice. From the obtained results it was still evidenced that as people who carry out volunteer work, in general, presented higher averages between as dimensions of citizenship in parties with which they do not act without volunteering, leading us to the conclusion that the voluntary action is related to positive way with the understanding and exercise of an active citizenship, although this one is under construction.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESA presente pesquisa objetivou analisar a relação entre as motivações para o voluntariado e as percepções e atitudes cidadãs, tendo a mesma como foco os voluntários da área da saúde atuantes no Estado da Paraíba. Nesse sentido, foi desenvolvido um referencial teórico visando o embasamento geral quanto a cidadania, voluntariado, motivação para o trabalho voluntário, assim como a intercessão destas temáticas. E, em seguida, para o prosseguimento das análises foram desenvolvidas técnicas estatísticas, tais como: medidas descritivas, testes de correlações, de variâncias e de diferenças de médias entre grupos. Para o processo de coleta de dados, foram utilizados dois questionários: um para categorizar as motivações voluntárias, elaborado e validado por Cavalcante (2016), e um outro adaptado do Citizen Audit e Ferraz (2017), censo criado pelo Conselho de Pesquisa Social e Econômica da Inglaterra, para a análise das atitudes e comportamentos vinculados à cidadania. Estes questionários foram submetidos a duas amostras de 222 pessoas: voluntários e não voluntários, tornando-se possível realizar comparações entre ambos os grupos quanto a prática cidadã. Na análise dos resultados foram demonstradas as medidas descritivas dos instrumentos utilizados, nas quais foram destacadas as médias da motivação pela aprendizagem, seguida da altruísta, como as mais expressivas entre os voluntários. Ainda foram realizadas análises comparativas entre voluntários e não voluntários a partir do teste t, bem como realizados testes de correlação entre as motivações para o trabalho voluntário e os direitos sociais, políticos e civis. Por fim, pode-se dizer que os voluntários atuantes na saúde do Estado da Paraíba apresentam a busca por aprendizagem como a motivação para o voluntariado mais expressiva, seguida da motivação altruísta e busca pela justiça social. A partir dos resultados obtidos ainda foi evidenciado que as pessoas que exercem trabalho voluntário, de maneira geral, apresentaram maiores médias entre as dimensões da cidadania em comparação aos indivíduos que não atuam no voluntariado, levando-nos a conclusão de que a atuação voluntária está relacionada de maneira positiva com o entendimento e exercício de uma cidadania ativa, ainda que esta se encontre em construção
