The research addresses the process of acquiring reading and writing in literacy classrooms. The purpose of this research was to describe how the teaching-learning process of reading and of writing in school occurs, to identify the main difficulties faced in classrooms and to verify the methodological practices used in the process of reading and writing in literacy.
